In todays toolbox class, we basically designed our own unique items that represents Shoreditch and one person that we analysed in the previous toolbox session to suit our item for their style and take inspiration from the photos we took from the Shoreditch visit. Personally, I chose a full body jewellery. Basically, my piece is surrounded her whole body and can take the pieces off to use the jewellery one by one. It contains; glasses, hair clipper, earrings, mouth accessory, corset, hand accessory and a choker. Everything is connected to each other but can take them off easily and use them separately.
At first while I was brain storming the ideas that I will use to create my piece. I struggled a little because had no idea where to start, but once I started writing my ideas it was so easy to continue brain storming and made my plan much more easier. Therefore, with a help of this session I realised that the first thing to do before creating a piece, write down every idea that comes up to your brain than analyse them one by one then sketch the overall how the piece may look. After the sketches, I was able to see what I want in my piece and what I don’t. When I was done with the illustrations, I got a clean sheet and start drawing the final item.
Overall, I learned how the process must be while creating a piece. Honestly, every each process was so fun to do and made me realise how much I enjoy while creating a accessory item. Because I can go as crazy as I want to without any restrictions.
