TOOLBOX 5

In toolbox session five, I had an incredibly fun time. Especially, the process of making collages even though the desk was very crowded. It was a bit hard for me to choose what I’m supposed to do with all of the prints in a messy desk. Because I’m more of a clean worker and only want to focus on what I’m doing on the specific task. That’s why I like my desk to be clean because messy table can distract my attention really easily. Basically, I want my head to be clear like my desk or else I’ll be lost in tons of ideas. That’s exactly what happened in the class. Everything was everywhere and we were studying in a group tables. Everybody’s prints were different and colourful so I kind of lost myself in those beautiful prints. However, I’ll do anything if I put my mind to and I was dedicated to do my tasks on time and do the best I can. Therefore, I didn’t let the messiness distract my attention from my work and start the collages. At first, I cut all of the models and stick them on the paper, then take a general look at the photos that I printed and start thinking about the things I wanted to collage out of them. We were more focused on the accessories so I didn’t want to go out of the line but still wanted something different. Therefore, before sticking the photos on top of the models I put every single one of them the way I want them to look then stick them so that I can fix those prints if I don’t like the way it looks. Moreover, I sketched the shapes of the collages and turn them into different materials in the class. We had limited time so I was not able to finish them all, but at least I had some ideas about how I will continue doing the collages. Honestly, it got much more easier with experimenting. Everything was about creativity so I can turn those collages into different shapes with my creative mindset if I didn’t like the way it looks. Therefore, I was really comfortable and adaptable with the given task. Last but not least, sketching ideas to another was a little difficult to accomplish because there were too many shapes and ideas coming from each one of them. Nevertheless, I overcome that by sketching every single idea that I had and combined them with the other ideas till I found the one.
